Ahmedabad: 10th November, 2025] In a significant victory against anti-national elements, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (Gujarat ATS) announced the successful neutralization of a dangerous terror module, arresting three individuals, including a Hyderabad-based doctor, who were allegedly plotting mass-casualty attacks across India. The suspects were caught near Ahmedabad with a Pakistan-smuggled arms and materials intended for the production of the deadly chemical toxin, called ricin.
The operation, which took place over the weekend, has revealed chilling details of a sophisticated conspiracy involving handlers from international terror groups and the use of cutting-edge smuggling tactics like drone drops from across the border.
Key Arrests and Alarming Seizures:
The central figure in the plot, identified as Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed (35), a resident of Hyderabad, was intercepted by the ATS near the Adalaj toll plaza on the Ahmedabad – Mehsana highway on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Dr. Saiyed, who holds an MBBS degree obtained from China, had apparently become deeply radicalized with terror intent.
Evidence Recovered: The seizure from Dr. Saiyed’s vehicle confirmed the extreme danger posed by the cell.
1. High-Grade Firearms: A cache of sophisticated, foreign-made weapons was seized, including two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, and 30 rounds of live ammunition.
2. Chemical Weapon Precursors: Most alarmingly, the ATS recovered four litres of castor oil and other precursor chemicals. Officials confirmed that this quantity of castor oil was sufficient to synthesize a large, potent dose of ricin, a naturally occurring toxin considered one of the most lethal chemical poisons known, with no widely available antidote.
Following the initial arrest and detailed analysis of digital evidence, the ATS swiftly tracked down and arrested two of Dr. Saiyed’s accomplices from Uttar Pradesh, Azad Suleman Sheikh (20), a tailor, and Mohammad Suhail Mohammad Saleem Khan (23), a student. The arrests were made in the Banaskantha district of Gujarat.
The ISKP and Pakistan Terror Nexus
Interrogation of the accused under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has uncovered direct links to global terror groups and the use of the Pakistani border for arms supply:
Foreign Handler Identified: Dr. Saiyed admitted to being in contact with an overseas handler named Abu Khadija, believed to be operating from Afghanistan and having strong affiliations with the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP).
Drone Smuggling Strategy: The trio revealed that the sophisticated arms were not smuggled through traditional land routes but were part of a recent consignment dropped by drones from Pakistan across the international border in areas of Rajasthan, such as Hanumangarh. This highlights the evolving and increasingly dangerous methods used by foreign handlers to arm radicalized individuals within India.
The Ricin Plot: Investigators confirmed that the doctor’s medical and scientific background was being leveraged by the terror group to produce the deadly ricin toxin. The plan was allegedly to use this chemical agent for mass poisoning attacks across high-density targets in multiple Indian cities, aiming to inflict massive casualties and sow widespread panic.
Recce of Sensitive Indian Locations
Further investigation revealed that the terror cell had conducted extensive reconnaissance (recce) of sensitive and high-profile locations in several key metros, including sites in Lucknow, the national capital Delhi, and key areas within Ahmedabad. The identified targets included centers of religious significance and specific organizational headquarters, indicating a calculated effort to create communal disharmony and destabilize the nation.
The swift and decisive action by the Gujarat ATS has not only resulted in the arrests of these three individuals but has successfully neutralized a terror cell preparing for what could have been an unparalleled disastrous terror attack involving both conventional firearms and deadly chemical weapons. The main accused, Dr. Saiyed, has been sent to ATS custody until November 17 as the investigation continues to uncover the full scope of the plot and any remaining sleeper cells.
